Thar Coal "gift" to Thari activists

Noted young poet Almas Nohri along with his two cousins were sentenced to 10 years prison by Anti-Terrorism Court for allegedly burning pipes being laid for Thar Coal near Vejhiar. The accused have been demanding of the pipe company/contractor to pay them compensation for layig and passing the pipeline through their fields/lands, which the company denied to give them. In the meantime, this incident happend. Whereas the accused was in Hyderabad to attend Literature festival on the day burning of pipe incident took place. Is this the justice to sentence young poet and activists behind bars for 10 years just for demanding their rights?

This is what and how coal will bring development and prosperity to Tharis. On the other hand, Gorrano people are protesting for around six months now. But, conglomerates and capitalists are simply minting money from mines and duping desert dewellers in the name of development.

This is just the beginning of coal cruelty! Just wait and watch how it will devastate our indigeneous culture, heritage, environment and so on. Those who will speak against coal corporates will be silenced through such tactics.
